You Make My Heart Happy

Just a quick post to start the week off.  Maybe this week won't be as hectic as the last.  It always seems to get busy when school starts.  I did manage to get one card made last week.

I used the papers and stamp set Simon Says Stamp August card kit.  The little girl is a stamp from Hero Arts.   I had colored several of her previously in different colors with Copics.  It just so happened that this one matched.  The stamp set from Simon Says Stamp is called Card-Exchanging Friends.

I think the sentiments  in this set are great.  Here's the inside of the card. I used the same color Copic as used in her outfit to color in my little heart on the front and the inside of the card.  I added a couple of sparkles to her hair and that was it.  Very simple card.  The only time consuming part was coloring the little girl.  As I've mentioned before, when I find a stamp that I like I tend to stamp it out several times and color them.  That way I have some already finished and on hand to use if the notion strikes me.

I have been in a coloring mood lately.   Coloring projects are something that I don't feel as guilty about leaving out and unfinished.  Every time I get a spare moment,  I can stop and color.  It's my therapy.  Or at least that's my story,  and I'm sticking to it!

I have a new coloring project I'm working on.  It's a new technique to me using Prismacolor pencils.  As soon as I get one done I'll be sure to post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Scrapping!

Laughing Lola Artbooking Mini Album

Laughing Lola is one of the new paper packs featured in the Autumn/Winter idea book.  It is my favorite paper pack from this book and maybe of all time from Close to My Heart. I am simply drawn to the colors in this pack.    One of our projects at convention was this great little mini album that was cut from the new Artbooking Cricut cartridge.   For those of you who don't know about the new Artbooking Cricut cartridge, it is amazing.  It has ten themed mini albums included in the over 700 images.  Although, I might not have chosen these exact colors, it turned out to be a very fun little album.  Originally, the pages that were cut from the cartridge were made to be folded and actually put together like a book.   Because of all the dimensionals on the pages, I decided to cut my pages apart and use rings to put my album together.

Along with the Laughing Lola paper pack, the Laughing Lola Complements Dimensional Elements and the Laughing Lola Assortment were used throughout the album.

All of the cut outs were made from the Artbooking cartridge as well.  I used the Geometric Background Stamp set to stamp several of the cut out shapes, like the arrow on the page above.

Some of the album pages are designed to have pockets which would be great for journaling tags, photos, or even ephemera that was collected form a trip or event.

The Artbooking cartridge has some great overlays.  If you keep the fall out from the overlays you can use it again for another design.  For example on these pages, the fallout from the honeycomb designed overlay was used on the opposing page.

The Artbooking cartridge also has several titles, like the "You + Me" above.

This was a fun little album to put together.   I haven't had time to play with the cartridge and make more, but I do believe it's going to be a favorite.  For those who love creating your own mini albums, this cartridge is a must.

For more information on the new Artbooking cartridge stop by my website or contact me. Remember for the month of August, you not only receive the three sheets of dimensional elements and three full size stamp sets, but you get the stamp of the month, A Chocolate Affair,  for FREE!  That's four full size stamp sets that you will get with your Artbooking bundle.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Dream Pop Flashback

As I was perusing my photos, I found a couple of cards that I don't think I ever posted.  Some of you might remember the National Scrapbooking Month promotion from Close to My Heart, Dream Pop.   It was a limited time paper pack.  I had made a couple of  teenage birthday cards.  I thought the bright colors in the pack were perfect for these cards.

These are standard sized top fold cards cut from White Daisy cardstock.  All the other paper is from the Dream Pop pack.  I cut the numbers from the Artiste Cricut cartridge.    I used Whisper ink to stamp the sentiment, which is from SSS.   I used my glitter gel pen and outlined the "amazing" to add some bling along with some sparkles in the flowers.

For the inside, I used the same papers and the same ink.  The sentiment is from Card Chatter- Birthday.   The card chatter sets are some of my favorite "go-to" stamp sets for cards.

That's it for now.  I'll be posting a new mini album we put together at convention, so check back soon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Birthday Cheer

Birthday Cheer is one of the new stamp sets in the current idea book that are in the Jeanette's Archives collection.  These are stamps that were originally released in rubber years ago that are now being re-released in acrylic.  I love these stamps!

I stamped the image on White Daisy cardstock and used my CTMH alcohol markers to color in.  This one was colored with Cotton Candy, Buttercup, Sky, and Pear.

I used our Glitz Glitter Gel to put the icing on the cake and glitter up the stars.  I really couldn't see doing a lot of anything else to the card because the stamp itself is so decorative.   The possibilities are really endless with these stamps.  Here's another one I colored in Cranberry, Buttercup, and Sky.

This one is a top fold card that I cut a little bit narrower than standard size.   After I embossed the card face, I attached it to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Cranberry cardstock.   I glittered this one up in the same manner.

On both cards I attached my stamped piece to my card front with 3d foam adhesive just to give it a little dimension.

Both of these cards are of very simple design.   The coloring is the only part that takes any time and with our alcohol markers, it doesn't take long at all.   You could personalize this card for the recipient in their favorite colors.

When I get a stamp like this I stamp it out several times and color on them when I have some spare time.  Then I have several images ready to make cards.

Just to add to my love for this stamp, it's only $6.95!  If you haven't checked out the new idea book you can do that here.  This new book has several very affordable stamp sets.  If you are looking to get started in stamping or just want to expand your collection, there are many stamp sets under $10.  As always, if you have any questions or would like to host a gathering or workshop, please feel free to contact me or you can visit my website, here

Don't forget for the month of August, when you order $50 or more you get the stamp of the month, a Chocolate Affair for FREE!   That's a $17.95 value, for free.

New Spinner Cards

Just a quick post tonight about our new spinner cards.   These cards are so neat!  They are larger than your standard A2 sized cards measuring 5"x7".   These cards have a square window and a suspended circle in the middle that, you guessed it, spins!  Here are a few cards we got to make at convention with them.  Well, they are mostly by the instructions, but par for the course I made a few changes :)

These cards also feature our new M sized stamp sets.  The new M size stamps are perfect for these spinner cards and such a great value at only $2.95! The paper is from our new paper packs.  These two have a mixture of Laughing Lola and ProPlayer, with a little silver glitter trim thrown in.

These have the paper packs Frosted, Huntington, and Babycakes.  These cards are so fun!

You can find the White Daisy Circle Spin Cards here or on page 129 of the current idea book.

That's it for tonight.  Back to the crafting table for me.  If you have any questions or wish to order any of the new products you can visit my website or contact me.  Don't forget for the month of August if you order $50 or more you qualify to receive the stamp of the month for FREE! Don't miss out!
