Paoenia Japonica by Altenew

Hello everyone!  I'm dropping in to share a couple of cards I made with my new Paint-a-Flower stamp of the month from Altenew.  It has been a long time since I was in a monthly subscription, but I thought I would give this one a try.  I mean, they send me flowers every month.  How cool is that?  For August, it was the Paoenia Japonica.   I have made two cards so far.  I really love the size of this floral.  It would be a lot of ground to cover with pencils, but has enough space to get in the details with watercolor and marker.  The first one was colored with Copics.

This is a standard A2 size top-fold card.  Part of the stamp is cut off, but not much.  Hope that gives you an idea of the size of the stamp.  I really like it.

For the next card, I embossed with image with Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger.  It is one of my all-time favorite gold-tone embossing powders.  I stamped it on the smooth side of the pre-cut Distress Watercolor Cardstock.  The watercolors are from the Decadent Pies set from Prima.  I love the colors in this set. I am not the best at watercolor, so I don't even come close to doing them justice, but they are very pretty.

That's all for now.  The weather is yucky, which equals a crafting day in my book! I'll be entering one of these cards in some challenges, which I will list below.  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, stay safe and stay creative!

Honeysuckle and Bees

Hello everyone!  Just dropping in with to share a card I made with some new stamps I got from Lavinia World.  This is Honeysuckle and the mini Bee stamp.  I felt like doing a little coloring.  I'm still following the "Orange and Lemon" theme over at the Lavinia Stamps Challenge Blog.  I love honeysuckle.  It has always grown in my backyard and during the summer is usually full of bees.

This ended up a 6x6 side-fold card.  I stamped my honeysuckle in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored it with my Copics.  I totally forgot what I was doing and stamped my bees in Versafine Claire Nocturne, so they are colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

That's it for me today.  Hope everyone is staying safe.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snail Mail

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I thought I would drop by to share a card I made using my new Snail Set stamp from Lavinia Stamps.  I would never have thought I would have bought a snail stamp, but for some reason I couldn't resist.

I had found a background I had made previously and was not happy with it.  I almost tossed it, but then thought I would just see what I could do with it.   I also used my new Fairy Bells stamp along with the Mini Leaf 2 stamp to create my little scene.  I used Versafine Claire inks in Twilight, Nocturne, and Rain Forest.    I originally used Twilight to highlight the circle  in the middle, maybe a sun, but something was missing.  I then used the negative and white pigment ink. That was too stark, so I went over it with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink.  That was better.  You can't really tell in the photo. I used my Inktense pencils to add a little color to my snail.  I decorated the inside as well.

All in all, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.  I'm a sucker for a good note card.

That's all for me today.  I have a few more things I'll try to get posted in the upcoming week, so stop back by.  I'll be entering this in the Lavinia World Challenge #33.   Thanks again for stopping by!  Until next time, stay safe and stay creative!

Pippin and Butterflies

Hello everyone!  I thought I would share a card I made for a friend.  She wanted a card for her sister who's child was going off to college.  I have always liked the sentiment and have to remind myself of it often in these ever-changing times.

I blended Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Chipped Sapphire for the sky.  The grass was inked with Versafine Claire in Rain Forest and Green Oasis. The little rabbit is a mini from Lavinia Stamps named, Pippin.  He is adorable.  The Meadow Mushrooms, mini mushrooms and butterflies are also Lavinia Stamps.

This is a standard A2 sized side-fold card made from black #110 cardstock. The inside sentiment I typed out on my computer.  I stamped my meadow flowers and butterflies and then brushed in a hint of color with my inks.

I'll be entering this in the Lavinia World Challenge #33.   If you haven't checked out Lavinia World, you should.  They have some awesome stamps and inks, among other things, and they have a bi-weekly challenge.

That's it for me today.  Hope you are on your way to having a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, stay safe and stay creative!

Orange and Lemon

Hello everyone!  Just a quick post to share with you a note card I made using my new Lavinia stamp, Giselle, that I got in my last haul from Lavinia World Store.   Just something about this little fairy that drew me to her.  She's very different.  The challenge over at Lavinia Stamps Monthly Creative Challenge was "Orange and Lemon."  So Giselle got adorned in yellow and orange.  I used the Honeysuckle stamp to make the background.   Lavinia World Store also has a bi-weekly challenge, as well. I'll be entering here there, too.

I stamped the background with onto some yellow cardstock and then used my CTMH ink in Sunset to kind of burnish the edges.  She is colored with Copics.  I tossed in some punched flowers and some black ribbon from my stash.

I also had made another card in yellows and oranges using the Stargazing stamp from Lavinia Stamps.  I used the Tree Branch stamp and the leaves from the Fairy Door set to make a tree for them to sit by.  Instead of gazing at the stars they are watching the sun rise.  At first, I thought sunset, but I really think it's sunrise.

I used distress oxide inks for the background in Squeezed Lemonade and Abandoned Coral.  The hills were made with Versafine Claire in Green Oasis.  It was a very simple card and fun to make.  I just love these little fairies.

That's all for me for now.  I have a couple of cards I am finishing up and I'll try to be sure to post.  Until next time, stay safe and stay creative!  Thanks for stopping by!

Gorjuss Mad Hatter

Hello everyone!  Just stopped by to share another Gorjuss girl card I have created.  This was another stamp I had never used.  I even found a box of card bases and envelopes from the Gorjuss collection, which I used for this card.

I stamped this little girl on Xpressit paper with Memento ink and colored her with Copics.  I couldn't find colored paper that matched to my liking, so I used the same markers and colored strips of paper in the pink and teal.  The card base is striped.  These cards are so sturdy.  I was quite impressed.  The envelopes are just as cute, too.

That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, stay safe and stay creative!
