Not only did I want to do something with them, but I wanted to do it in non traditional colors. This was the first card I made with these little guys. I stamped them all in Memento Black ink. I colored them with our new alcohol ink markers. These were done in Smokey Plum, Twilight and Sky. I think their noses are Autumn Terracotta. I used the same colors of cardstock with some Whisper thrown in. After I colored them I used our Prisma Glitter and dazzled up their snow. I just brushed on some Mod Podge and sprinkled it on. I thought they turned out really cute. Here are the other cards.
I was definitely having some flakey fun :) You can see the glitter a bit better in the picture below.
The glittery snowflakes on these cards are K&Company. I wanted to make a frilly kind of card. I don't usually go frilly, but they are fun. The lacy square in the background is cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. The frames and the little snowflakes are cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. I added a little ribbon bow from my stash, a bling gem from the Boutique Assortment, and some sparkles and called it good.
I don't think I'm through with these little guys. They are just too fun. I think I am going to try some different colors. Check back soon and hopefully I will have them completed and posted.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!
I saw these posted on the art board, and just had to stop by and tell you that I thought your cards are super adorable. I like the clean look of them. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :)
DeleteI also saw these on the CTMH BB and loved them so much I had to come see them on your blog! I also LOVE your blog and the background and banner on top! so so cute and though I usually make my cards look more "vintage" with distressing, for some reason I love the clean look of these. I also love the colors you used and the little guys! What did you use on the white "Merry Christmas" stamp? Was it embossed or white ink? I'm trying to figure out how to stamp in white on dark paper like you did. I'm a CTMH consultant from Oregon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marilyn. These little guys were fun to play with. Actually, the "Merry Christmas" is a Cricut cut from page 80 of the Artiste cartridge. I cut it from a scrap piece of white glittered cardstock. If you were going to stamp it you would have to use the pigment ink. And probably the crispest image would be white embossing powder. Or you can cheat like I did :) Thanks for stopping by!
